ARE YOU HAPPY NOW? Is comprised of a series of animated one after the other phrases stating, or evoking, profound, humorous, thought provoking, bizarre, potentially deeply-personal, challenging different human “ happiness” on a continuous and never ending loop basis against the chorus of four coin –operated horses used for kiddies rides isolated from their physical context and without riders, rocking back and forth caught in their monotonous continuous loop. Each “happiness” passes at four beats per second, twice the speed of dance music and precisely the speed of the pumping soundtrack. The video seduces the viewer to stand between fact and fantasy uncertain without any fulfillment or conclusion, which like a dada montages allows for a multitude of associations about “Happiness” as a human construct non-existent.
