Red Eyed Sky Walkers   2007-2012, Series of time based outdoor/indoor installation with 99 red weather helium balloons tethered to the ground, wireless surveillance cameras, computer, software, real time streaming data, video projectors.

Installation view, “Red Eyed Skywalkers “, 2008 is the 2nd adaptation of the large scale site-specific public project this time in the heart of Theater Square and Star Plaza in Cleveland, Ohio, co produced by Ingenuity Festival and a grant by Ohio State Art Council. The design and the sequencing of the work consist of small wi fi video cameras attached on 99 red weather balloons inflated with helium. The cameras capture aerial data around the Plaza and through the Internet broadcast live and archived streaming data, which is displayed on large display screens located on facades and buildings around the city .The artist by fusing art and technology creates a strikingly beautiful vision which transforms the public space for the 21st century. “ Redeyed Skywalkers” is a celebration of the spectacle, excess, beauty and desire of contemporary culture and a provocative comment on the issues of surveillance, fear and control in our society.

Peter Weibel curated the project as part of special artists projects for the 3rd Biennial of Seville , in Seville ,Spain.  The design and the sequencing of the work consist of small wi fi video cameras attached on 99 red weather balloons inflated with helium. The cameras capture live aerial data and information from the security around the terminal and through the Internet broadcast live the vitality and chaos of the airport mixed with archived streaming data, which is displayed on large display screens located along the departures gates of the airport.” Redeyed Skywalkers” is a celebration of the spectacle, excess, beauty and desire of contemporary culture and a provocative comment on the issues of surveillance, fear and control in our society.

The cameras capture live aerial data around the Plaza and through the Internet broadcast nine single channels of live and archived streaming data, which is displayed on 8 flat screens located in Dreispitz.The artist by fusing art and technology creates a strikingly beautiful vision which transforms the public space for the 21st century. “ Redeyed Skywalkers” is a celebration of the spectacle, excess, beauty and desire of contemporary culture and a provocative comment on the issues of surveillance, fear and control in our society.
